Something not working? Write to us — a student reads every message.
We answer within two working days while the semester is running, and more slowly over the breaks. Write in English or Arabic.
Before you write
Five lines that turn a bug report into a fix.
- 01Which phone you are on, and which version of iOS or Android.
- 02The app version and build — Settings, then Info, at the bottom of the screen.
- 03What you tapped, and what happened instead of what you expected.
- 04A screenshot or a screen recording, if the fault is something you can see.
- 05The AUC address you sign in with, so we can find the account.
Common questions
Who can sign in?
Any AUC student, with the Google account AUC gave you — the one ending in @aucegypt.edu. A personal Gmail address will be turned away at the door, because everything the app hands out is issued against your student record.
Sign-in sends me round in a circle.
Almost always a second Google account already signed in on the phone. Pick the @aucegypt.edu one on the chooser, or sign the other one out of the browser first. If it still loops, tell us which phone and which browser.
The app is asking for my student ID.
It asks once. Your ID is what the SU Card is printed against and what points are credited to, so the app cannot issue either until it has one. You can correct it later under Profile.
My SU Card says my ID is not verified.
The ID you type is taken on trust until the SU checks it against its own records, and a few services wait for that check. It is not something you can speed up from the app — if it has been sitting unverified for more than a week, write to us with your ID and we will look.
I was at an event and my points have not landed.
Points are credited when you are scanned in at the door, not when you RSVP — if nobody scanned you, there is nothing to credit. If you were scanned and the balance has not moved, send us the event and the date and we will trace it in the ledger.
A note I uploaded is not in the library.
Every upload is reviewed before it is published, so there is a wait. If it was rejected you get the reason back, and you can fix the file and upload it again. Nothing is deleted quietly.
Can I file a case without my name on it?
Yes — the anonymous switch is on the filing screen, and the handler reading your case sees the case and not you. It is anonymous to the SU, not untraceable: the case stays attached to your account so the reply has somewhere to go, and the privacy policy sets out exactly who can undo that and why.
I am not getting notifications.
Check the app first — Settings, then Notifications — and then the same switch in your phone's own settings, because the OS overrules the app. Notifications follow the phone you last signed in on, so signing in somewhere else moves them.
How do I update the app?
Through the App Store or Google Play like anything else. Smaller fixes ship over the air and arrive on their own — close the app fully and reopen it, and you are on the new build.

Your account and your data
It is your record. See it, correct it, or end it.
- See what we hold
- Your record is under Profile in the app, and at aucsu.org/profile on this site — your details, your points ledger, your cases, and the notes you have uploaded. Ask us for a copy of anything it does not show.
- Correct it
- Your name and picture come from your AUC Google account and change when that does. Everything else — student ID, major, graduation year, phone — you edit yourself under Profile.
- Delete your account
- Write to sutech@aucegypt.edu from the AUC address you sign in with, subject “Delete my AUC SU account”. We confirm by email within seven days and remove your profile, your points balance and its ledger, your RSVPs and check-ins, your cases and everything attached to them, your form responses and applications, and every device we could notify.
- What deletion leaves behind
- Notes you published stay in the library, because other students are relying on them — they are detached from your account and no longer carry your name. Counts the SU has already used for planning are aggregate and hold nothing that points back at you. Backups age out within thirty days.
- The whole policy
- Privacy policy — what the app collects, which permissions it asks for and why, who else touches it, and how long any of it is kept.
The app
- Made by
- The AUC Student Union — the elected student body of the American University in Cairo, New Cairo campus. The app is built and run by students on the Union’s Tech committee.
- Runs on
- iPhone and iPad, and Android phones. One codebase, the same screens on both.
- Signing in
- An @aucegypt.edu Google account. There is no password to lose and no second account to make.
- Your build
- Settings, then Info, shows the version and build number you are on. Quote it when you write.
